Do you see it? And in the living room, I look right past that ugly shag green carpet and think of the potentially GORGEOUS hardwood floor that has been hiding under there for 52 years...
And then I look at these 2 spaces and try to decide which shall be my new craft cave...
This is the only room that has yet to inspire me yet...I'm at a loss with this one...but I'll come up with something ;)
Thankfully, the master bedroom is already all done. I mean, the mint green walls/ceiling with the electric blue carpet is just right up my alley. I think its quite tranquil don't you? ;)
I can't WAIT to dive into this one!!!!!!
Congrats! I can't wait to see the transformation! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's so exciting!

Oh, wow! You won't believe how much that looks like a house I looked at with my parents over ten years ago! I'd say it has lots of potential ... And if I were picking, I think I'd choose the room with the most windows for a "craft cave."
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the house, you have a lot of work ahead of you, can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait either.
ReplyDeleteFor the room with the fireplace, may I suggest painting the wooden ceiling white? Or even light blue?
I am so glad your updating your blog more often and on a regular! it is fun to see what you come up with next, love mom
ReplyDeleteK, so this post is super exciting, but I will come back later and read the whole thing and comment on it later.
ReplyDeleteBut, in case you aren't a fan of Dollar Store Crafts on facebook, DSC was linked to by Real Simple Magazine. They featured her chandelier and then picked a few of their favorite posts...one of which was your Ballard Silhouette Boxes!!!! You're famous! :D (Can you tell I am excited for you?!?!)
Here's the link so you can check it out: http://simplystated.realsimple.com/simplystated/2010/05/diy-blog-faves.html
Lol, looks like our house when we bought it, but luckily you escaped the layers of old wallpaper in each room!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you bought a house?! You'll have to let me know where it is.
Jeez, you have a LOT going on right now.

@Jhill......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm ECSTATIC!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for telling me, I had no idea!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I'm so jealous and can totally see all the potential your new little nest has!
ReplyDeleteFor the bathroom, I'm picturing white walls with some pretty bold blue stripes on the wall, not quite horizontal, radiating from/pointing towards the window...
ReplyDeleteI think the illusionary perspective, as well as the cool colors, would make it seem bigger...
Mizzle, I know for certain I would have NEVER come up with that idea, but me likey!!!!!!! I'll have to start looking for design inspiration...anything to make that room look bigger! LOL :)
ReplyDeletewow that is awesome!! Loving all the windows and the fireplace. You have to give me some details. BTW...my MIL has that EXACT wallpaper in her kitchn. And what's wrong with green shag??? haha
ReplyDeleteWow Nikki! So much happening at once for you all at once! Buying a house is so EXCITING!! There is definitely a TON of potential in your new treasure too! Lots of cabinets. I can't decide which carpet is my favorite the electric blue or shag green!! lol
ReplyDeleteI love that you are buying a fixer upper! We have done this several times, and are still fixing up the house we live in now. It's fun, rewarding, frustrating, confusing and just down right a good life experience! Here's a link to some of our properties, if you get bored one of these nights in between scraping wallpaper and re-wiring....
