I have all these blank canvases and one day I just decided to give it a go.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of the snow, and I'm totally obsessed with birds right now, so I knew I wanted a bird/springy looking painting.
I looked up some videos on you tube about different techniques I wanted to try and then I got to work.
All in all I think it turned out alright. I am OBVIOUSLY not the next Picasso...but still, not too terrible :) I'm just glad I decided to give it a try. I took 4 years of art in high school and painting was my absolute FAVORITE thing. But I forgot how truly therapeutic it is to sit down and just run with it. Give it a try this week, you'll thank me later!!!!!!!! :)
Wow....I'm tempted to paint this same picture myself just to show you how great of a job you did! Even with my best effort it would probably look like a 1st grader did it! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou're inspiring me! I have some new acrylics and a friend gave me a canvas. I'm chicken to "screw it up!" I have so many ideas rolling around in this creative head, and need to just give it a try.
ReplyDeleteNice job!
Julie
LOL, thanks girls! Julie, GO FOR IT!!!!!! Worse comes to worst you hate it and have to paint over it, but still, it'll be like therapy, just go nuts!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYours looks gorgeous, mine would look not so gorgeous! Very spring like.

ReplyDeleteI love the colors and the detail on the sparrow! BRAVO!
ReplyDeleteWell, if you're going for picasso, you'd need to put the birds head on upside down with one eye by it's tail feathers :)
