Like a beacon in the night...

Us crafter's we're a thrifty folk, and I don't know about you, but whenever I step foot in a store, I look for my beacon. It looks like this:

Not to be confused with this...this one is not NEARLY as useful for shoppers...

Unfortunately for me...stores are not the only place I see beacons...I also see them curbside, OFTEN. While driving down the road I spot a piece of furniture sitting by the curb...I IMMEDIATELY turn around...I'm not the only one right? I usually make my mom inspect it cuz I'm too embarrassed, but if its a treasure I quickly shove it into my truck, and by truck I mean my minivan that I have taken the back seats out of in order to cram stuff in there like its an F-150 :)

So, while driving around town one lovely day I spotted this......

Isn't she MAGNIFICENT?!?!?!??! I love her, tho I'm not sure what to do with her....

I'm looking for my lovely readers opinions...do I, make her back into a table, or how about a bench? Or, do I throw all caution to the wind, completely deconstruct her and use her for parts. Those spindles would make KILLER candlesticks!!!!!!!

So what would you do with her?

  2. My husband and I are always fishing things out of the curbside bulk trash piles once a month (and I, too, make him get out to inspect due to embrarassment)! I vote for bench. Though a coffee table could work, too. Just don't chop her up!

  4. put a cushion on it and when I come over I can rest my feet on it and knit. Then you can train Cai to massage said feet while I am knitting

  5. Ohhh I love this! I think it would be a Fabulous quilt rack, or depending how deep/high it would be cool towel rack. I can't wait to see what you come up with. I wonder what it was originally?

  6. A wall mounted quilt rack ;) Put the feet against the wall, and drape quilts from it.

  7. Hmmm, I think it'd be awesome to put books on (in the angled way), or else as a shoe holder. But then, I'm not as crafty as you, so good luck!

  8. I agree that it is more than likely a quilt rack. Making a bench out of it is a great idea.

  10. I thought of a wall-mounted towel rack, too. Then again I'm re-doing my bathroom and everything looks like a towel rack to me right now.

  11. It looks like a book holder to me. It would be cool with books in it, sitting on a table? I like the cushioned foot rest idea too. Oh don't deconstruct it. It's too cool!

  12. Looks like an old suitcase stand my grandma had. You stretch material over the top two spindles, and your guests have a convenient place to set their luggage so they can get at their things. It looked like a bigger version of this: http://www.marthastewart.com/article/versatile-stools

  14. I have two ideas:
    1) put an old suitcase on it and use it for a table or nightstand.
    2) Mount it on the ceiling for a potrack.
